Langtang valley and Gosaikunda Lake Trek

Trip Overview

Langtang region is in the north of Kathmandu and borders to Tibet. It is protected as Langtang National park and it contains a wide variety of climatic zones, from subtropical to alpine, so that this region is also one of the very rich for flora and fauna in Nepal. This region is also very famous for Hindu pilgrims as a relaxed and reformatted place of lord Shiva. It is known as the holiest Gosainkunda Lakes(4,380m) and the beginning source of the Trisuli River. Once in a year, hundreds of thousand Hindus made a pilgrimage here in the month of August.

Langtang valley is an amazing beautiful Himalayan Buddhist village. There were existing one of the most ancient Tibetan cultural villages and their authentic cultural way of life until the earthquake of 25 April 2015. Despite earthquakes, the entire village was swift away by the avalanche of the highest mountain of the region Langtang Lirung, today entirely village reconstructed with the economical help of the international community and Nepal government. But still today we can see the terrible devastating destructive footprint of the earthquake in the valley and we can imagine what had happened in that unfortunate incident.
